Dear friends,
60 days. In 60 days, we will leave Le Mans for Brussels for 5 months of travel and meetings across Europe. It's still a bit far and it's already very close.
What do we have to do before July 17th?
Find a car: it's almost done.
Finding accommodation: this is underway, at least for Brussels. We are also actively searching for Tecklenburg in Germany.
Organising the start of the school year in September: completed. We are meeting the teachers of Barthélémy school on 25 May. Objective: to establish links between the school and the project.
Renewing passports to enter Ukraine: to be done...
Organise Daphne's return for her scout camp: to be done. Daphne will join her unit from 01 to 18 August. She will leave us in Brussels to join us in Germany.
Organise our professional lives: Christine will be on unpaid leave for 6 months. I continue to automate as much as possible neuralia.co and I finish the current orders for swiloh.com. Automating your business to save time is at the heart of our company's project. What could be more motivating than freeing up time to meet inspiring people!
Continue to help Daphne, Joséphine and Barthélémy to build their own project within the project: There is what we can organise now, and what will remain unpredictable along the way. There is a lot of unpredictability, and the children understand this even if it is not what they are most comfortable with. So we try to create small markers that can mark out the journey:Â
Look for places to visit in each stopover city and each country,
Learn to bake baguettes and croissants "à la française", to offer in the communities,
Equip ourselves with a mobile tennis court, to learn how to play during the trip and offer games in the gardens of the homes,
Learn some music on the harmonica, which I've left aside for 15 years,
And finally, to organise a farewell party in mid-July to say "see you soon" to our friends, families and the L'Arche de La Ruisselée community.
There are certainly many things that reasonable people would plan in detail, with a big excel file. But increasingly, that is not what we mean by "Encountering L'Arche". These words of Paulo Coehlo make me think of Laurence Rahmaoui's advice not to "organise" the journey too much.
Love does not need to be understood. It only needs to be manifested. [...] What the future holds for you depends entirely on your capacity to love. And for that, you must have absolute and total confidence in what you are doing.
